Uesis, the Creator and God King

Domains: Life, Order

Alignment: Lawful Good

Epithets: the Creator, the God King

Uesis Symbol
Uesis' Symbol

Uesis is the original god, the true creator of Khaldûn. He shaped the world, welcomed the other gods, and made the First Races. His most common symbol reflects this combination of power and creation: the crown for his power as the God King, and the plus in a circle, for his never ending cycle of creation. He is fiercely protective, to some, overprotective, of the world he created. He is actively involved in the affairs of Khaldûn, specifically, the Fiden. The Fiden worship Uesis as their primary god, and shun the Fallen. Uesis, short of actually going to Khaldûn and fighting alongside his followers, does everything he can to help the Fiden. He brokers deals between the different factions within the Fiden, to ensure relative unity between his followers. If they are distracted by fractions in their alliances, they will have no hope of ever defeating the Fallen.

Prior to the start of the Eternal War, Uesis was actively involved in the lives of everyone on Khaldûn. He had created every sentient race on the plane, and expected to be worshipped for it. The people would hold annual festivals for him, the largest being held on Life Day, the day making the anniversary of the creation of the First Raes. Many people saw this ego as detrimental, however, for the most part, there was nothing they could do. That all changed when Ahriman started his rebellion against Uesis. In contemporary terms, he no longer takes active part in most people's lives - only those of the Fiden.

Fandir, the Conservationist

Domains: Nature, Tempest

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Epithets: the Forest God, Forest Guardian

Fandir Symbol
Fandir's Symbol

Fandir was the second god, following in the footsteps of Uesis. In fact, Fandir created the first life, and shown in his symbol, mostly plant life, but also many of the animals that dwell in the forest. The life he created was not just reduced to live in the forest. He created many of the flowers, trees, grasses and other plants that are spread throughout the plane. It is just the animals that he created that were restricted to the forest. As such, he became very protective of the forests, actively punishing those who did harm to it. That being said, Fandir does make deals with mortals - allowing them to harvest trees in return for something, normally a commitment to plant a tree for every one cut down.

Fandir guides the woodlands and the creatures that live within, including the humanoids created to live there. He may not have been their creator, but he is their protector; the god who cares about them the most. That being said, in the conflict between the Fiden and the Fallen, Fandir generally does not take a side, allowing it to naturally end, if it ever does.

Akrua, the Warriess

Domain: War

Alignment: True Neutral

Epithets: The Warriess

Akrua Symbol
Akrua's Symbol

Akrua is the Goddess of War. Not only is she the Goddess of War, but she also invented the designs of many of its tools, weapons and armors. She showed these to Tudalle, who made them for her. Her symbol contains just two of these creations: her sword and her shield. She showed them to the peoples of Khaldûn, and the world has never been the same. She may not have shown them how to fight, but she gave them the means. The people just took the next step, on which Akrua thrives. She takes pleasure in the violence mortal - it sustains her vitality. In fact, she has such a large influence on the peoples of Khaldûn, she does not need to intervene personally in the world; she already made her impression on Khaldûn.

Warriors on every side worship her, hoping for her blessing in their coming battles. As such, she does not take a side in any conflict, instead relishing the bloodshed occurring on each side.

Irollan, the Sun God

Domains: Light, Order

Alignment: Lawful Good

Epithets: the Sun God, Lightbender, Lightbringer

Irollan Symbol
Irollan's Symbol

Irollan, being quite literally the God of the Sun, is also the son of Uesis. Once a mere mortal, Irollan was a demigod. He impressed his father with his ability to control any light - a feat no one else could, or can, do. After one of his performances, Uesis approached Irollan, and offered him a godship. This offer was not merely to make him a Lesser Diety, like a number of other demigods. It was a fully godship, an addition to the Original Eight.

Irollan was unable to refuse; he accepted, and ascended to the Divine Palace, to spend his days with the other gods. Irollan put his powers to use, controlling the movement of not only the sun, but also the stars and moons. His symbol reflects that power over the light. He had his father to thank for his new position, and as such, supports him in everything. He is the only god beyond Uesis and Ahriman to have taken as side in the Eternal War, standing with his father.

Tudalle, the Craftsman

Domains: Arcana, Forge

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Epithets: God of the Forge, the Craftsman God

Tudalle Symbol
Tudalle's Symbol

Tudalle is the God of the Forge. He fashions and imbues weapons, tools, such as Akrua's armor and weapons as well as Uesis' crown, and other contraptions using his innate knowledge for all of the gods. His wisdom and technical skill is called upon by artisans and craftsmen alike, including artificiers. This is shown in his symbolism, normally a hammer. As one of the Twins, Tudalle is rarely alone. He normally spends his time with his brother, Pyrus, where they both bounce their ideas off of each other.

In the Eternal War, Tudalle, in conjuncture with his brother, refuses to participate in any kind; his creations are on both sides, and does not wish to see any of them destroyed. Quite frankly, he has no directives to his worshippers in terms of what they should do. He believes that the choice is completely up to them; it is their lives, and if they want to spend it fighting, so be it.

Pyrus, the Fire Mage

Domains: Arcana, Knowledge

Alignment: Chaotic Good

Epithets: The Fire Mage, the Magic Wielder

Pyrus Symbol
Pyrus' Symbol

Pyrus is the God of Magic and Knowledge, known especially for his usage of fire magic. Because of this, the peoples of Khaldûn have given his fire as a symbol. Ironically enough, fire is the complete opposite of Pyrus' personality. He is calm and collected whereas fire burns anything it touches, randomly moving. If anything, fire better describes Tudalle's, Pyrus' twin, personality better.

Mages and scholars turn to Pyrus for his intelligence and wisdom. Following the lead of his brother, Pyrus himself does not participate in the Eternal War. He generally follows the same path his brother does, leaving the choice completely up to his worshippers. However, there have been a few occasions where he has encouraged his followers to participate.

Biara, the Thief

Domain: Trickery

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Epithets: The Godly Thief, the Cunning One

Biara Symbol
Biara's Symbol

Biara is the God of Thievery and Cunning, worshipped by all who need stealth and cunning in their line of work. She herself is a kleptomaniac, always stealing things from the other gods. At first, prior to the Eternal War, tolerated this; she was a god operating within her domain. No one had the authority to question her actions, or at the very least, set the precedence that other gods could intervene in other's domain. As with anything, one day Biara took it took far; she stole Uesis' crown. She was banished from the Divine Palace As such, no god wants her on their side.

Most others would be insulted by this. However, Biara isn't. Instead, she sees it as an opportunity. Without being on any side, she has free reign over who she chooses to steal from. As such, she asks her followers to do the same: remain neutral, and use the conflict to their own advantage.

Ahriman, the Fallen One

Domain: Life

Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Epithets: The Fallen One, the Fallen God, (former) Caregiver of Khaldûn

Ahriman Symbol
Ahriman's Symbol

Ahriman, widely called "The Fallen God", is the centerpiece of the Cult of the Fallen, normally shorted to the Fallen. His followers, who have the same name as their organization, have broken away from the Fiden, and want nothing to do with Uesis or Irollan. Ahriman created life unlike anything produced by Uesis; Abberations, Fiends and Monstrosities. After his designs were rejected by Uesis, Ahriman defied his orders and created them anyway. As such, Ahriman was formally stripped of his title as Caregiver of Khaldûn, the worst insult Uesis has been known to give.

Ahriman, fueled by his rage, declared Uesis to be a god blinded by his ego and status, unworthy to be followed or worshipped, and began a war upon Uesis that can only end in two ways: his death, or Uesis' death. His anger affects not just the Fallen, but all mortals of Khaldûn; They have to decide if they wish to participate in the war, and if so, on which side.

Ornella, the Goddess of Death

Domains: Death, Grave

Alignment: True Neutral

Epithets: The Death Goddess

Ornella Symbol
Ornella's Symbol

Ornella is the Goddess of Death and the Dead. She guides all who die to the afterlife, as well as maintains control in her Final Kingdom. As such it is no wonder that her symbol is a skull. Being one of the most recognizable symbols of death, its symbolism is obvious. All worship her; courting her ire may destroy one's chance at entrance to her kingdom. She is the original creator of the Celestials, the entities that assist the gods in their multitude of tasks. A number of the more important ones have risen to the rank of Lesser Diety

Since the dawn of the Eternal War, Ornella has rarely interacted with other gods, and even less with living mortals. As such, those who do end up interacting with Ornella prior to their death are considered blessed by others. Ornella is completely pro-war, and does not want it to end. The war produces death, adding souls to her kingdom. As such, she also does not join a side. However, she does encourage her worshippers to participate as each death adds to her kingdom.

Silent Shades

The Silent Shades are some of th Celestials of Ornella. Usually passing unseen in the motal world, these beings usher the dead in to the Final Kingdom. Occasionally, however, the shades are seen by mortal folk.

When a child, usually less than three years old (although this can vary depending on the race of the child), dies, the shade may appear to its parents to offer it a one time dead: their lives for their child's

The parents will have 7 years, to the day, to spend with their kid. The next day, they will myseriously die, and any time they have left living will be passed onto their resurrected child.
